Large Group Festival Registration will open on Tuesday, Sept. 6th, 2016 at 4PM.

Out-of-area festival registration will open on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 4PM.

 

Bay Area General Music/ Elementary Music Conference

Presented by: California State University, East Bay, Northern California Association Orff Schulwerk Association, Northern California Associate of Kodaly Educators, and the Bay Section Chapter of California Music Educators Association

A unique occassion for music educators working in general music, elementary, or classroom settings to share their experiences, compare pedagogies and get hands on experience with new or familiar approaches. Come for this important gathering and be prepared to dance, drum, sing, and play!

Some of the main presenters will be Doug Goodkin (Orff), Maree Hennessy (Kodaly), Pete Santucci (Gordon Music Learning Theory), Wendell Hanna (Reggio) and Kwaku Manu (Ghanaian drum and dance)

The 2014 CMEA-led Stand Up 4 Music (SU4M) California Music Education Advocacy Day was held on Thursday, May 22, 2014.  CMEA has posted a five-minute video online that contains clips of the event and interviews with some of the participants. CMEA BAY FESTIVAL INFORMATION

Since 2013-2014 Festival Season, all festivals have been named by their regions rather than by their Areas. The regions are: 

  • North (Areas I & VII), representing Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano, and Sonoma counties.
  • East (Areas II & III), representing Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
  • South (Areas V & VIII), representing Santa Clara county.
  • West (Area VI), representing San Francisco and San Mateo counties.
  • Valley (Area IV), representing Alpine, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties.
